Cherry Shaker Sliding Lid Candle Box

A simple, useful accessory

This small cherry box is based on an antique from the 1700s. It is sized to fit standard tapered candle sticks and designed to hang on the wall from a nail or peg. Boxes like these were very common in colonial homes and shaker buildings and could be hung on the wall like this example or made with a simpler back, without the hanging feature, to sit on a table top.
