Wooden Jack Plane

I'm not a planemaker, but I sometimes make a plane

As my late friend Stephen Shepherd used to say, I’m not a planemaker, but I sometimes make a plane. This plane was made as an experiment using a 1-3/4″ laminated iron from an old Sandusky Tool Works plane. The body is air dried beech from a local sawyer and the strike button is Gabon ebony. I made the plane to experiment with the handle design and offset.
