Hand Plane Foundations is Live

As of 3:00 PM EST today, my new Hand Plane Foundations course is live. It’s taken a bit longer than expected to release this follow-up to my first course, Hand Saw Foundations, but it’s finally ready for the world. This is the second course in the Foundations of Traditional Woodworking series and I hope it is received as well as the first course has been.

The course is completely free to enroll in with the option to donate if you feel so inclined. The first video in the course has been posted, and you can watch it below. I’ll be adding two new videos to the course each week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, until the entire course is posted. While the course is aimed at beginners, there are bound to be a few nuggets for experienced hand plane users as well. Since it’s free anyway, there’s certainly no harm in checking it out, even if you’re not new to the craft šŸ™‚ .

    Bob, thank you again very much for being so generous and sharing your knowledge and experience with newbies (even though Iā€™m on the fifth floor) as well as with experienced ones. Also happy to see you again on more videos.

    Yes, thank you very much. Having a small problem accessing the course. It doesn’t show in the list of courses after clicking Start Now. Logging out and back in again doesn’t seem to resolve. No hurry. THanks

      I’m not sure what you mean by list of courses. Do you mean in your profile?

    I can enroll in any of the classes. As soon as I click start now, it loses my authetication and I have to log in. Once on, it takes me to my account page.

      A couple of folks have been having a similar problem. However, I cannot recreate the issue and I have tried multiple browsers and devices. The only thing I can think of is that it could be a security issue with your browser. Make sure that you are allowing cookies as the site uses them for the courses and if you are disabling cookies it might not work correctly.
